On the morning of September 23, Mr. Khong Huu Kien - Chairman of Dam Rong 4 Commune People's Committee said that subsidence and landslides are occurring in the residential area of the particularly difficult area K'No 5, Lan Tranh village.
The area behind the households from position A1 to A20 shows subsidence and landslides of the positive taluy.
Some landslide points have moved close to the edge of houses, posing a potential risk of further landslides, directly affecting people's lives and property.
The hill behind the residential area is about 30-50m high, 45-60 degrees steep, about 500m long and about 50m wide. Below this area, there are about 15 households with more than 70 people living.
Currently, at Dung K'No 5 Resettlement Area, many locations are showing risk of negative taluy landslides. Some land plots behind the resettlement area are collapsed, creating a large cavity at the foot of the taluy. In particular, the area of blocks B and from D1 to D10 is seriously landslide. Some auxiliary works such as bathrooms and toilets have been swept away, with landslide points approaching houses" - Mr. Kien said.
22 households removed from dangerous areas
Faced with the high risk of landslides, from the afternoon of September 20, Dam Rong 4 Commune People's Committee has developed a plan to relocate people out of dangerous areas when natural disasters occur.
Implementing the direction of provincial leaders after field inspection, the locality has reviewed, compiled lists and organized the relocation of households in high-risk areas.
Accordingly, on August 27, 2026, the locality mobilized and organized the relocation of 11 households with 57 people in Zone A, where there is a high risk of positive taluy landslides.
Following that, in 2 days, September 21 and 22, 11 more households with 68 people in Zone B were relocated due to the risk of negative taluy landslides.
Thus, through 2 phases, the locality has relocated 22 households with 125 people out of areas at high risk of landslides.
Dam Rong 4 Commune People's Committee also arranged standing militia forces to monitor the situation, put up signs, hang warning ropes and prevent people who have moved from voluntarily returning to dangerous areas.
The locality has requested financial support of about 1.368 billion VND for households during the relocation period, expected to be 120 days.
The Relief Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province is requested to consider supporting 110 million VND for 22 households, equivalent to 5 million VND/household.
According to the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dam Rong 4 commune, the K'No 5 area is facing a very high risk of landslides, especially in prolonged heavy rain conditions.
The locality proposed that competent authorities soon have solutions to overcome, ensure the safety of life, property and stabilize people's lives.
