On March 18, the Vietnam Record Organization officially set a record for " really launching and successfully planting 1 million trees in the shortest time, through the program "Living healthy - Green contribution with Panasonic".
This is not only an important milestone marking the company's persistent efforts on the journey towards the Net Zero goal.
At the record-breaking ceremony held at Hoa Binh Wind Power Plant, Bac Lieu, Mr. Cao Minh Tuan - Deputy Director of the Center for Natural Resources and Environment Communication (Ministry of Agriculture and Environment) said: "In the past time, we have made efforts and acted in accompanying organizations and individuals to implement many forest planting programs across the country, bringing many practical environmental effects, minimizing some of the harmful effects of natural disasters, balancing the ecosystem and improving the global climate.
A typical example is the program "Living healthy and contributing to green with Panasonic" which has been successfully implemented in 3 years: 2022, 2023, 2024. On the scale of 20 provinces and cities from North to South with a total of more than 1 million trees. The types of plants on the planting list are carefully selected according to the scientific standard system, to optimize CO2 absorption.

"The program has strongly spread awareness of forest protection among organizations and individuals. At the same time, calling for small but practical actions of the community towards environmental protection by joining hands to protect forests, restore forests, increase coverage on forestry land, improve protection of upstream areas, preserve and enhance biodiversity, sustainably restore the forest ecological environment; create jobs for workers; develop socio-economy" - Mr. Tuan said.
The program has realized the idea that each individual can contribute to building a "green fund" and nurturing large forests.
By 2025, the campaign has successfully "greened" 1,071,300 new crops in 20 provinces and cities stretching from North to South, with 17 tree varieties meticulously selected, suitable for each ecological area.

Not only contributing to improving the landscape, preventing erosion and protecting groundwater resources, these crops are also capable of absorbing 108,000 tons of CO2 within the next 10 years, helping to minimize the impact of climate change.
Mr. Marukawa Yoichi, General Director of Panasonic Vietnam Co., Ltd. shared: We are extremely honored that Panasonic Vietnam was established by the Vietnam Record Organization to set a record of Unity that successfully planted 1 million trees in the shortest time through the program Live healthy - Green contribution with Panasonic.
