Mr. Ngo Trong Duc is currently the Secretary of the Youth Union of Hang Bo 4 residential group (Hoan Kiem ward, Hanoi).
The first blood donation of Mr. Ngo Trong Duc (born in 1995) took place when he was a freshman at the Vietnam National University of Agriculture. The exciting atmosphere of the blood donation day at the school and the large participation of students motivated him to register for blood donation as a new experience, even though he himself did not have much knowledge about this activity at that time.
After that experience, Mr. Trong Duc began to learn about voluntary blood donation. He realized that each unit of blood donated can help patients overcome critical times. The more he learned, the more he realized that this is a practical activity that any young person with sufficient health conditions can participate in.
Mr. Duc's attachment to voluntary blood donation activities gradually became clearer when he participated in the "Youth Day 2014" blood donation program organized by the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion. Here, he participated as a volunteer, introduced basic knowledge about blood, blood donation procedures as well as how to propagate so that many people understand this activity correctly.
Participating in the program is the premise for me to have more knowledge to propagate, share with friends, and call on everyone to participate in the blood donation day," Mr. Duc said.
According to him, donating blood is giving to save another person's life, but the blood donor himself also receives many things, not only a certificate or the right to receive free blood when needed, but also health, spirit and joy in life. Thanks to that clear awareness, on average, Mr. Duc donates blood 2 times a year, each time donating 350ml.
Through many participations, Mr. Duc gradually got used to the atmosphere of blood donation days. Not only directly donating blood, he also supported volunteers in the organization process; from welcoming, consulting, initial health checks to guiding donors to rest after completion. Thanks to the experience accumulated through many times, when he saw that the first-time participants were still unfamiliar, he often proactively guided and encouraged them. He shared that for many people who have never donated blood, psychological anxiety makes them hesitant.
“Some friends are very nervous when they donate blood for the first time. But after donating, holding the certificate in their hand, they feel healthy and still very happy. I and the brothers and sisters organizing the program often remind them of that joy so that they have more motivation for the next times,” Mr. Duc recounted.
In addition, Mr. Trong Duc also actively shares information, mobilizing friends and those around him to respond when there is an opportunity. For him, each blood donor can contribute to spreading the spirit of sharing in the community, so that blood donation days become more and more successful, attracting more people to participate.

With a love for social activities, Mr. Ngo Trong Duc does not stop at the blood donation movement. For many years, he actively maintained youth union activities at the grassroots level and took on the role of Secretary of the Youth Union branch of Hang Bo 4 residential group. He and youth union members cleaned the environment around Hoan Kiem Lake and participated in charity programs, supporting difficult circumstances...
Now that work is busier, Mr. Ngo Trong Duc always keeps a part of his enthusiasm for community activities. For him, the most important thing in young people when participating in social activities is openness. When they are willing to share and care about everyone around them, everyone will realize that kindness sometimes starts from very small actions.
Mr. Duc shared: "Any activity or job requires openness, voluntary blood donation is also like that. When I participate with a voluntary spirit and feel happy, then those actions are truly meaningful, achieve good results and can contribute to spreading to many people.
With his positive contributions to the blood donation movement and social activities, Mr. Ngo Trong Duc was honored to be awarded the title "Good People, Good Deeds" by the Chairman of Hanoi City People's Committee in 2025; is one of the outstanding faces participating in the Hanoi City Patriotic Emulation Congress in the period 2025-2030.
