Medical staff travel 60 km to donate rare blood to save lives

Ha Tinh An officer of the Can Loc District Medical Center traveled a long distance to the center of Nghe An province to donate rare blood.

Mr. Dang Ba Cuong (44 years old, Head Technician of the Department of Diagnostic Imaging of Can Loc District Medical Center) said that on the morning of February 17, after hearing that a patient at Nghe An General Hospital had to undergo surgery and needed a rare amount of blood, he traveled about 60km to donate a unit of blood.

Patient Nguyen Xuan T (60 years old, residing in Vuong Loc commune, Can Loc district, Ha Tinh province) received a blood transfusion immediately after the surgery.

Ms. Nguyen Thi My Duc - Mr. T's daughter shared that although the whole family and grandparents were ready to donate blood to serve their father's surgery, because his father had a rare blood type, he could not use it.

Fortunately, there was Mr. Dang Ba Cuong - an officer of Can Loc District Medical Center who had a noble heart, traveled a long distance to donate blood to save his father. The family is very grateful for Mr. Cuong's noble gesture.

Mr. Dang Ba Cuong shared that he was also very happy to have donated blood to save patient Nguyen Xuan Tam.

Knowing that his rare drop of blood is very special, Mr. Cuong has participated in blood donation many times. He is currently a member of the Rh-Ha Tinh Rare Blood Club.
