The warm story in the flood season began with the charity of a German tourist, but the dedicated heart of Ms. Dao Thi Thanh Hai - owner of Halong Land Hotel (Tuan Chau Ward) - also touched many people.
On November 26, when completing the room payment procedure, the German national guest suddenly gave Ms. Hai 10 million VND and a handwritten letter, asking her to send to the people in the flooded areas after watching the news about the flood situation in Vietnam.
Receiving the kind gift, Ms. Hai immediately shared with him that people at this time really need food to cope with difficult days. Hearing that, the customer agreed to let her convert all the money into rice.
Immediately after sending tourists to Noi Bai airport at noon the same day, Ms. Hai proactively contacted a rice dealer who had been selling rice for sale without interest in recent days to support charity activities.
She quickly bought 83 bags of rice, a total of 830kg, then took a photo and reported it to the customer. Her eldest daughter also supports diching to help everything go smoothly.
Not only Ms. Hai, rice sellers also contribute to spreading beautiful gestures by accompanying in the spirit of "no interest", helping the rice to be delivered as quickly as possible to people in flooded areas.
A representative of the Green Community organization - the place receiving relief gifts - said that this was the first time an international guest sent a heart to people in flooded areas through the unit.
At 1:30 p.m. on November 27, the truck gathered goods and necessities, including the rice of the German customer, with the support of Ms. Hai's family.
The support is on its way to Lam Dong province according to the Politburo's support assignment for Quang Ninh.
