On September 30, Phu Quoc City Police (Kien Giang) said that after receiving information from Tan Thuan Tay Ward Police (District 7, Ho Chi Minh City), the unit actively searched, mobilized, and helped a family get back their 10-month-old child.
According to initial information, on September 24, a woman (29 years old, residing in Tan Thuan Tay ward) gave her 10-month-old child to a strange couple to adopt.
On September 27, the woman's family discovered the incident and reported it to the Tan Thuan Tay Ward Police. The family said that because the woman suffered from postpartum depression, her mental and emotional state was unstable and she gave her child away.
Upon receiving the report, Tan Thuan Tay Ward Police quickly verified the incident. However, because the couple who adopted the child did not leave any information, the verification process encountered many difficulties.
At the police station, the woman said she only knew the couple who adopted the child through an adoption group on social media.
Initially, Tan Thuan Tay Ward Police determined that the couple who adopted the baby were temporarily residing in Phu Quoc City, so they asked Phu Quoc City Police to quickly check the information.
By using professional measures, on the morning of September 29, Phu Quoc City Police invited relevant people to work and witness the woman's family receiving the child back from the couple who adopted her.
The child's family sincerely thanks the police force for actively helping the family get the child back.
