Hanoi - A drop of about 40m of oil threatened the safety of road users. As soon as it was discovered, the Traffic Police force quickly arrived to handle the situation.

On the morning of February 21, images appeared on social media recording the scene of traffic police officers using sand to cover the oil stain at the Ly Thai To - Tran Nguyen Han intersection (Hoan Kiem district, Hanoi).

According to the posted content, the incident occurred at around 9:30 p.m. on February 20. At this time, an oil stack about 40m long appeared on the road, occupying nearly 2/3 of the roadway, causing dangerous slippery conditions.

This image, after being shared, received many positive comments, acknowledging the timely actions of the traffic police to help ensure traffic safety.

"I passed by and saw the traffic police guiding vehicles to avoid slippery areas and scattering sand on the road. The action is very realistic, helping to ensure the safety of the people, because at night like this, vehicles entering it can easily cause accidents," said Mr. Nguyen Quang Dao, who posted the image on social media.

On the morning of February 21, speaking with reporters, Captain Phan Manh Hung, an officer of Road Traffic Police Team No. 1 (Hanoi Traffic Police Department) - who directly went to ask for sand to handle - said that when the working group arrived at the scene, the oil stains had spread wide because someone used water to wash them, making the road even smoother.

"We immediately went to the nearby construction site to ask for sand, coordinated with the ward police to handle it, ensuring safety for road users," Captain Phan Manh Hung shared.

Through this incident, the authorities recommend that people who encounter similar incidents should use appropriate materials to handle or place warnings and immediately report to the authorities. Do not use water to wash oil stains because it will cause oil to spread wide, causing danger.
