Good neighbors
Hearing the story of some households in Khe Tho village, Dong Loc commune (Ha Tinh province) donating 900m2 of land to open a road, helping a poor guy have a way to travel, we went there to clarify the truth.
When we arrived, the dirt road was leveled and opened connecting from the main road of the village to the house of Mr. Tran The Thuyet (34 years old) with a new color of dirt. Through observation, this new road is about 4m wide and more than 200m long.
Mr. Tran The Cuong (50 years old), one of 6 households in Khe Tho village, donated land to open a road for Mr. Thuyet - said that his family donated more than 200m2 of land, along with the other 5 households donating about 700m2, namely Tran The Linh, Tran Thi Luong, Nguyen Viet Tung, Nguyen Viet Nghia, Nguyen Viet Duong.
"To be honest, during the time when land was in high demand, people called it a golden piece of land, but seeing Thuyet's situation as hard and difficult, we agreed to donate a little to each household to help him have a way to travel," Mr. Cuong shared.

According to Mr. Cuong, Thuyet's situation is very difficult. His father was born with a disability, his mother's health was poor due to the pressure of bombs during the war. Thuyet's parents had 4 children but 2 of them were deceased, Thuyet currently has an older sister living in the South but life is also difficult. Thuyet's father passed away when he was only 5 years old, his mother passed away in 2019.
Previously, Thuyet's family lived in a dilapidated house, then around 2008, the locality built a small four-room house to support housing for poor households.
Mr. Tran The Linh (66 years old) participated in donating about 100m2 of land to open a road for Mr. Thuyet to travel - shared: "When we knew that Thuyet wanted to ask us to donate a little land but was afraid and did not dare to say it but asked Mr. Cuong to help, my family happily agreed. His circumstances are difficult and hard, so we neighbors are ready to help.
Good deeds, humanity
Mr. Tran The Thuyet - shared that life is difficult, so for many years he has been working for hire everywhere. He is now 34 years old and has not been married. According to Mr. Thuyet, for decades, his family has not had a way to go but only by rice fields, the sun is still shiny, the rain is muddy, it is only possible to walk but cannot go by motorbike or bicycle.

"I have had difficulties for a long time, and have been busy working far away all year round, so I am afraid not to dare to ask the question. Last July, I took the opportunity to ask Mr. Cuong to discuss with some neighboring households to explore whether they would donate land to help me have a way to travel. I thought it would be difficult because land prices are now high. However, I didn't expect the neighbors to be so kind. They are ready to donate about 900m2 of land to make way for me to travel conveniently. I am really happy and very grateful to them, Mr. Thuyet confided.
According to Mr. Thuyet, having a convenient travel route brings him great confidence. He recently met a girl, and plans to get married next year.

On August 7, Mr. Bui Chien Thang - Chairman of Dong Loc Commune People's Committee - said that 6 households in Khe Tho village donated about 900m2 of land to open a road to help Thuyet, his neighbor, have a way to travel, which is a very good, very meaningful and humane act.
"The local government very much welcomes and thanks those 6 households. Hopefully, that beautiful and meaningful action will be spread in the community and society so that the neighborhood affection will always be sustainable and good. This life really needs love, protection, and helping each other to rise up together," Mr. Thang shared.
