About half a month ago, while burning the ground cover, a neighbor of Ms. Nguyen Thi Diem's family (Phuong Duyet village, Vinh Hoang commune, Quang Tri province) accidentally let the fire spread to the newly planted acacia forest area of her. The fire broke out quickly, burning down the entire forest of the family and some other households.
Immediately after the incident, neighbors proactively compensated by buying 3,000 acacia trees for Ms. Diem's family to replant. However, while worrying about how to overcome the damage, her mother-in-law suddenly fell seriously ill and had to be admitted to Quang Tri General Hospital for long-term treatment. Ms. Diem has to spend all her time taking care of her mother, unable to go to the forest to replant trees on time.
Having this information, Ms. Nguyen Thi Loan - Head of the Women's Association of Phuong Duyet village stood up to call on members to join hands to help. The call spread quickly, in a short time, more than 50 women registered to participate.
On the morning of December 6, when it was still cold and light rain, groups of women brought Cups and clothes to go to the forest to gather in the burnt forest. Urgent working atmosphere, some digging holes, some placing trees, some filling the soil. Everyone tries to complete it quickly to keep up with the weather that is favorable for the root canopy.
It took just over 2 hours for all 3,000 acacia trees to be planted in the burnt forest area. The green tree beds returned to the black soil after the fire, bringing new hope to Ms. Diem's family.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Loan said that knowing that members are in difficulty, it is normal for women to support each other. "In the village, if anyone needs help, everyone should be vigilant and join hands, no one calculates anything" - Ms. Loan said.
