Quang Ngai is struggling with constant natural disasters, but people still share each package of noodles, rice cans... to send all their love to the flooded areas of Dak Lak and Gia Lai.

Quang Ngai joins hands to support people in flooded areas of Dak Lak and Gia Lai

Hearing the news that people in Dak Lak and Gia Lai provinces were suffering heavy losses due to floods, Ms. Huynh Thi Nam (73 years old, in Nhon Phuoc village, Nguyen Nghiem commune, Quang Ngai province) immediately cycled to the grocery store to buy a box of instant noodles to bring to the Relief Reception Point to send to the flooded area.

According to Mr. Do Thanh Su - an officer of the Quang Ngai Provincial Police, Ms. Nam's family is a poor household, in very difficult circumstances, and one daughter has lost her ability to work.

Right after Mr. Su shared her photo on social media, many netizens expressed their admiration for her kind heart, although not rich in money but rich in affection.

Not only Ms. Nam, these days from the mountains to the plains, State agencies and people of Quang Ngai are all turning their hearts to the people of the flooded areas of Dak Lak and Gia Lai in many different ways. Some people have money to contribute money, some are in a hurry to buy rice, cooking oil, fish sauce, fabric, sanitary names, clothes...

People and the people in the village stay up all night to simmer dried fish and rice, cook Chung cakes, make pork with pork filling, simmered with peanut shrimp, garlic and chili... and then bring the receiving points to send to people in flooded areas.

Recorded at the reception point at 38 Chu Van An Street, Nghia Lo Ward, Quang Ngai Province, from November 21 to now, it has received hundreds of tons of goods including necessities, blankets... sent to people in the flooded areas of Phu Yen (old).

More than 55 tons of goods have been transferred; about 50 tons of other goods are being packed by volunteers. Ms. Tra Diem in Da Nang shared: Seeing the heavy damage to Phu Yen people due to floods, she sent 20 million VND to a friend in Quang Ngai to buy rice, cooking oil, boxed fish, clean water... and then brought it to the reception point at 38 Chu Van An, Nghia Lo ward for the benefactors to transport to Phu Yen.

"The goods are purchased from supermarkets, have clear origins and a long shelf life, so that people can use them for a long time. Wishing people in the flooded area of Phu Yen (old) to soon overcome difficulties and rebuild their lives," Ms. Diem expressed.

Love trips travel hundreds of kilometers to flooded areas

Quang Ngai is the flood center of the country, so more than anyone else, the people here understand the hardships and bitterness of floods. Seeing the painful and lossful images of the people of Phu Yen (old), Gia Lai, they understand the hardships that their compatriots are going through.

Whoever has something contributes. From people to officials, everyone focused on helping people in flooded areas. It is impossible to count all the goods, money... that Quang Ngai people sent, but these days there are hundreds of trips of vehicles day and night rolling towards Dak Lak, Gia Lai. The charity trips have traveled hundreds of kilometers, carrying the hearts of Quang Ngai people to the people in the flooded areas.

From November 18 to now, more than 105 tons of goods have been gathered here and in Phu My Urban Area, Cam Thanh Ward. Volunteers work day and night: some carry, some sort, some package, some label. Everyone hopes that each trip can depart as soon as possible. More than 55 tons of goods were transported by vehicles of the Provincial Police and Chin Nghia Company Limited.

Mr. Thuong Hoai Anh - Director of Chin Nghia Bus Station - affirmed: "We are always ready to run for free at any time, go wherever the relief team needs to give gifts to people in flooded areas. This is our responsibility and also our affection for our compatriots.

Natural disasters and floods have plagued the lives of Quang Ngai residents, struggling to cope with loss and deprivation every year. Although life is still full of hardship, people are still willing to share each package of noodles, rice cans, and bottles of oil with people in other places - because they understand the pain of floodwaters, understand the feeling of empty hands after the flood. Maybe Quang Ngai is not rich in material things, but humanity has never given up...
