Soldiers chase people in the historic flooded area in Dak Lak
Mr. Tran Van Bien, Chairman of Tuy An Dong Commune People's Committee, said that the recent heavy rain "is the historic flood, causing the heaviest damage".
The whole commune had 11 deaths, more than 10,000 houses were flooded, many educational, medical, cultural and traffic works were severely damaged; total damage was more than 1,000 billion VND.
Amid the difficulties, more than 100 officers and soldiers of the 95th Regiment still stay in the area, persistently implementing the motto: "Once people's lives are stable, the army leaves".

Working groups spread to the villages to clean up public works, clear sewers, collect waste, support schools and health stations.
According to Lieutenant Colonel Ngo Xuan Duy - Deputy Chief of Staff of the 95th Regiment - the unit has cleaned up 10 primary schools, 3 kindergartens, 1 medical station, 1 martyrs' post and more than 10km of inter-village roads.
Every night, the unit held meetings, reviewed the results and reminded officers and soldiers to strictly maintain discipline in the relationship between the army and the people.
On the DH31 road to the Commune People's Committee, the landslide traces are still dense, many houses only have bare roofs.
Wiping away her tears, Ms. Pham Thi Kim Phung (54 years old) said: "The water rose so quickly that she could only run up the hill behind the temporary shelter. Now seeing the soldiers return, I was so happy that I cried.
Mr. Pham Thien Thu (47 years old) saw the piles of rice with milk and honey in the distance and said: "The rice is soaked that the trees are not eating it, and no one can sell it. During the flood, I used a homemade canoe to rescue a few people in the village. Now that the army has returned, I am very happy! No soldier can probably do such a difficult thing.
The atmosphere on inter-village roads becomes warmer: Laughter, asking questions interspersed with the sound of quarreling.
The soldiers diligently cleaned; the villagers brought water, divided each package of noodles and cakes to the brothers - beautiful images of the love of the army and people in the midst of trouble.
Judge Khin, a Gia Rai, as he pulled the broken branches, said: " tiring is tiring, but it's very fun. People love the army, share everything with us. So, we will try our best as much as we can.
Mr. Ngo Manh Tinh (1994), who was a soldier of the 1st Regiment, 2nd Division, also contributed: "Seeing the soldiers returning, I feel like I see myself more than ten years ago. Helping our villagers, I am very touched.

The heart of soldiers towards children
Floods swept away books and pens of many students. Understanding the loss, officers and soldiers of the 95th Regiment took advantage of the rare holidays to contribute allowances to buy books, notebooks, and pens to the children.
At the Military Command of Tuy An Dong commune, soldiers of Division 2 and militia of the commune packed candy and arranged new notebooks. The gifts are simple but filled with love, hoping that students will soon return to school.
Judge Nguyen Gia Huy (from Song Hinh, Dak Lak) shared: My house was also flooded, the children were out of books, so I understand their situation. I am very happy to contribute something to help them go back to school soon.
The gifts were brought home by the army. Seeing the attention, little Tran Huyen Tram (class 1A5, Le Duan Secondary School) cheered with delight. Tram's brother, Tran Ngoc Thien (grade 9), officially said: " all the books are wet. Thank you to the soldiers for giving us a new play. We promise to take good care of our studies.
The father smiled and said goodbye to the soldiers: "As soon as you grow up, I will send you to the army!".
In the childish singing of "Uncle Soldier, we love you so much"..., the soldiers of the 95th Regiment put their backpacks on their shoulders, continuing the journey to help people rebuild their lives after the flood.
From public works to every roof, the image of the soldiers of Division 2 once again became a warm support for the people in the most difficult times.
