Dak Lak - The health sector has established 7 additional rapid response teams to monitor, handle outbreaks, protect the environment and support health care for people after floods.

On November 25, news from the Dak Lak Department of Health, specialized units are deploying work to overcome the consequences of the historic flood.

Previously, from November 16, heavy rain occurred in the eastern communes and wards of Dak Lak province, causing serious flooding.

For the health sector, prolonged heavy rain has paralyzed many health stations. A series of medical facilities were deeply flooded, many places were completely lost to operation.

In particular, in Tuy Hoa ward, many medical stations were deeply flooded, causing severe damage to vaccine storage equipment, facilities, and refrigerators.

In some other areas, medical stations had their parking lots collapsed, glass doors, fences and many important equipment were damaged.

After floods, there is a risk of environmental pollution, gastrointestinal diseases, infectious diseases, diseases caused by insects and dirty water sources...

In that context, in order to proactively control and prevent epidemics after natural disasters, the Center for Disease Control (CDC) of Dak Lak province has decided to establish 7 additional teams to quickly respond to epidemic prevention and control after floods.

The teams were mobilized from many departments and professional departments of the provincial CDC.

Teams will investigate, verify and monitor outbreaks; deploy zoning and handling of epidemics; carry out risk communication and guide people to prevent diseases; mobilize resources at the grassroots level; report and coordinate with the lines in the process of performing tasks.
