Bringing Tet to "shake hands" with miserable lives
Recently, the Tet Dong Day 2026 volunteer program came to 25 disadvantaged cases in Viet Hoa ward. The program is organized by the Hai Duong Youth Volunteer Blood Donation Mobilization Club in coordination with Hai Phong Rare Blood Club, Living Sharing Charity Group (Hai Phong), Viet Hoa Ward Youth Union and Bach Mai General Clinic.
Mr. Pham Tuan Vu - Chairman of Hai Duong Youth Volunteer Blood Donation Club shared: To prepare for the program, from December 2025, club members have deployed fundraising points of sale (fruit) at universities and densely populated areas in the area. Along with that, the club also received the joint efforts of charity groups, organizations, and philanthropists inside and outside the city. Thanks to that, 25 gifts in cash and in kind worth 500,000 VND/gift were handed directly to families before Tet, bringing early joy to difficult circumstances.

Also according to Mr. Vu, each visit is a different circumstance, some are from poor households, lonely elderly people, seriously ill people, sick people bedridden... Handing over Tet gifts, members of the club and accompanying units receive joy and precious feelings from families. Moreover, the stories and life experiences throughout the journey help each member feel respectful of life, have the motivation to continue spreading kindness and meaning.
Like the case of Mr. Ngo Van Thoai in residential group No. 6, Viet Hoa ward. Uncle Thoai lives alone, old, in poor health, unable to walk. Seeing the volunteer delegation come to his house, he smiled from afar, and when he got close, he was moved to tears. It had been a long time since Mr. Thoai's house had been so bustling, feeling as crowded and joyful as Tet.
Another case is Mr. Cao Van Vinh who is undergoing terminal cancer treatment. Although we cannot go to the place to give gifts to Mr. Vinh (due to his health conditions) but only send them through his relatives, we still hope the gift will bring joy, encourage him to fight the disease, and celebrate Tet warmly with his family" - Mr. Vu said.

Spreading kindness
The Hai Duong Provincial Youth Volunteer Blood Donation Club was established in September 2014, gathering dozens of volunteers who are students of colleges and universities in the western area of Hai Phong City. For more than 11 years of operation, the Club has become a powerful "brace" in the propaganda and mobilization of blood donation of the City Red Cross Society, mobilizing thousands of units of blood, spreading the message "every drop of blood given, a life left behind" in the community. Most recently, on January 11, the Giot Hong Xu Dong blood donation point was successfully organized at Hai Duong General Hospital, recording 115 units of blood received, bringing hope and life opportunities to patients.
In addition to activities on mobilizing and propagating voluntary blood donation, the Club always promotes the movement of gratitude, for the poor, contributing to the locality doing well in social security policies. The Tet Dong Day activity alone has been maintained for 5 years, bringing joy to hundreds of turns of poor people, lonely elderly people, and seriously ill people in the area.

Mr. Nguyen Huu Quang - Head of the Living Sharing Charity Group said: "At the Long Day Tet 2026, the Living Sharing Group contributed 10 gifts, each worth 500,000 VND. This is a meaningful activity that the group is accompanied by the Hai Duong Provincial Youth Blood Donation Mobilization Club. From this activity, we also have more enthusiasm and motivation to organize thoughtful Tet care activities such as the Loving Tet in Tien Lang commune or the 0 VND Tet Market for 200 patients in difficult circumstances being treated at Viet Tiep Friendship Hospital..., bringing Tet joy and spring to difficult circumstances".
