Bridge and road project worth over 180 billion VND in Hue accelerates after a period of stagnation

HUE - The Nhu Y river bridge project and the 26m road connecting the new urban area of An Van Duong are being accelerated after a period of stagnation.
After a period of stagnation due to site clearance and lack of capital, the construction site of the Nhu Y river bridge project and the 26m road connecting from Diem Phung Thi street to the 36m planned axis near Thuy Van 2 complex (Hue City) are being bustling again.Records on June 3 show that many worker groups and machinery and equipment were mobilized to speed up the progress of the main items of the bridge.Under the scorching hot weather, workers focused on installing formwork, tying steel reinforcement to serve the concrete pouring and completion of the main girder structure.To date, 2 out of 3 main girder systems of the bridge have been concreted and completed. The contractor is focusing manpower on constructing the remaining main girder.On Han Mac Tu street, the ground for the construction of the access road to the bridge is basically guaranteed. Workers are deploying auxiliary items to prepare for synchronous connection with the main bridge section.On Nguyen Cuu Van street, many households are dismantling houses and relocating assets to hand over land for the project.According to the Investment and Construction Project Management Board of Region 1, the project has been allocated 55.7 billion VND and disbursed 100% of the capital plan, mainly serving compensation and site clearance.After the construction period, the contractor has completed the items of drilled piles, abutment platforms, abutment bodies and reclaimed materials after the abutment. The value of the actual volume achieved is more than 45% of the contract value.The project affects 48 households with a total recovered area of more than 12,000m2. Although many compensation payments have been made, there are still some households that have not handed over the land, affecting the construction progress of the remaining items.The investor said that they are focusing on completing the compensation payment work after being allocated capital in 2026, and at the same time accelerating site clearance to hand over to contractors to synchronously deploy the bridge and access road system.
The bridge and 26m road project connecting Diem Phung Thi street to the 36m planned route near Thuy Van 2 complex was started in December 2024 with a total investment of more than 180 billion VND. Of which, compensation, site clearance and resettlement costs accounted for more than 100 billion VND.
According to the initial plan, the project had a construction time of 359 days and was expected to be completed by the end of 2025. However, due to difficulties in capital sources and site clearance, Hue City People's Committee issued Decision No. 3595/QD-UBND dated November 24, 2025 adjusting the project implementation time to October 30, 2026.
According to the new schedule, the bridge section will be completed before June 30, 2026; the approach road system at both ends of the bridge will be completed before September 30, 2026, and the entire project will be completed before October 30, 2026.
When put into use, the project will contribute to completing the transportation network according to the plan, strengthening the connection between the central area of Hue City and the new urban area of An Van Duong, creating motivation for socio-economic development and local tourism.
