The book series is the result of the inheritance and development of the comprehensive and comprehensive national historical research orientation by the late Professor. After editing, supplementing and editing, the work was completed with 2,411 large pages, with contributions from 191 authors.

The book series consists of three volumes. volume I, edited by Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan, focuses on general issues of territorial sovereignty and land borders with 66 articles. volume II, edited by Prof. Dr. People's Artist Nguyen Quang Ngoc, includes 46 research articles on the East Sea - a space for life closely associated with Vietnamese communities. volume III, edited by Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Duc Cuong, collects 38 works on Vietnam's sovereignty over the two archipelagos of Hoang Sa and Truong Sa.

With elaborate preparation, the book series not only compiles existing research achievements but also makes new discoveries, based on many rich sources of documents such as ancient sources, Nguyen Dynasty centuries, ancient maps of Vietnam and the world, as well as archaeological results.

This is also the first time that these research results have been systematized in a large-scale project, which is a foundation for continuing to affirm Vietnam's territorial sovereignty.

Scientific value and practical significance

The book series is considered a massive scientific work, crystallizing the intelligence and enthusiasm of many generations of history. With a comprehensive, interdisciplinary and objective approach, the authors have made convincing arguments about the process of establishing and exercising national sovereignty over land and islands, continuously, long-term and in accordance with international law.

Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan - Principal of Hanoi National University of Social Sciences and Technology (VNU-Hanoi), emphasized the multi-dimensional meaning of the book series. Academically, this is an authoritative and reliable source of reference. In terms of society, the project is an effective educational tool, fostering patriotism and awareness of the responsibility to protect sovereignty. In particular, in the current international context, the book series is considered a "powerful voice" and "sharpening tool" in the diplomatic and legal struggle, contributing to affirming Vietnam's just stance.

Comprehensive scientific arguments, proven by a rich system of documents, will be an important foundation for diplomatic work and legal struggle to protect Vietnam's sovereignty over the sea and islands.

The book series is also an effective tool to counter distorted arguments and unreasonable demands from the outside, while affirming objective historical truth in front of the international community.

With a large scale, high scientific content and profound practical significance, Research on national and territorial sovereignty in the direction of a comprehensive and comprehensive approach to Vietnamese history is not only an important historical research work but also a valuable spiritual asset, accompanying the nation in the cause of protecting and affirming the sovereignty of the Fatherland.
