Anti-corruption is one of the top concerns of most countries in the world. Our Party identifies corruption as one of the four threats to the survival of the Party and the regime.
Corruption is a major obstacle to the process of national renewal and development, eroding people's trust in the cause of national construction. Therefore, preventing and combating corruption is an important and urgent task of the Party, the State and all our people.
On November 9, in an interview with Lao Dong reporter, the National Political Publishing House Truth said that this agency has just republished with corrections and additions the book "Corruption: Schemes and Punishments" by journalist Ha Hong Ha. The book aims to contribute to the dissemination of information and documents on corruption prevention and control to readers.
The book mainly mentions stories, events, and characters in famous corruption cases as well as successful anti-corruption campaigns and solutions in a number of countries and organizations; at the same time, it describes the fierceness of this fight both in legal and practical aspects.
The valuable experiences of countries and territories such as Korea, Australia, Singapore, Denmark, New Zealand, Germany, Hong Kong (China), UK... are useful lessons for Vietnam.
The book also includes articles on cases in Vietnam's fight against corruption, especially the article on the determination and iron will of the late General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong in pushing back corruption in our country.
Associate Professor Dr. Pham Duy Duc - former Director of the Institute of Culture and Development (Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics) - said that the book "Corruption: Schemes and Punishments" by journalist Ha Hong Ha can be considered a unique and different feature among a series of documents on preventing and combating corruption today. The book attracts readers right from the name.
That said, perhaps this will not be a dry study heavy on theory, argument, data and evidence like many other documents, but will be a mix of journalistic commentary, literary freedom and a bit of... adventure.
"And it is true, the book is a colorful picture of corruption prevention and control with different methods of many countries and organizations, from England, Germany, Russia to Korea, Japan, Malaysia and Bhutan - the happy country, leading readers to spontaneously explore from one experience to another" - Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Duy Duc commented.
