Throughout the history of the revolution, in the resistance war as well as the renovation period, the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press has always accompanied the nation. In particular, in recent years, the press has played an important role in propaganda work, disseminating the policies and guidelines of the Party and State to all classes of people, contributing to creating social consensus, strengthening trust, and arousing development aspirations.
Strategic resolutions such as Resolution No. 57 on digital transformation, Resolution 59 on international integration, Resolution 66 on perfecting legal institutions, Resolution 68 on private economic development - were strongly and widely communicated through the press. Not only stopping at the role of information, the press also does a good job of "analysing and clarifying policies" in many rich, easy-to-understand forms, closely following reality, helping people approach policies proactively and actively.
At the 2025 National Newspaper Association opened on June 19, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Nguyen Trong Nghia affirmed: "The press needs to deepen its role as a social critic, protect the Party's ideological foundation, promote solidarity, create consensus, strongly arouse patriotism, national pride, inspire and aspirate to contribute, contributing to bringing the country firmly into a new era, an era of wealth, civilization, prosperity, and the nation's rise".
In the era of information explosion, when digital platforms have a strong impact on the behavior of receiving and sharing information, mainstream press needs to affirm its role as a leader, critic, and public opinion orienter.
The press wants to play a good role in policy communication, must be imbued with the spirit of serving the people. Each press work needs to come from the breath of life, honestly reflect the thoughts and aspirations of the people, thereby contributing to adjusting and perfecting policies. That is also the way the press fosters trust and creates a close connection between the Party and the people.
The 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day is not only an occasion to honor the heroic history and great contributions of generations of journalists, but also a reminder of the continued mission. The press must continue to be a pioneer force, accompanying the Party and the nation on the path of innovation, development and integration - so that the light from the Party's major policies and guidelines continues to spread, penetrate deep into life, foster the belief and aspiration for a strong and prosperous Vietnam.
