The fact that businesses cannot recruit workers or cannot retain their workers, as has been happening across the country, comes from many causes.
First, it must be frankly admitted that compared to the general level of industries and the same industry in the country and the region, the salary that business owners, especially FDI enterprises, pay to workers in Vietnam is still low.
A company A produces the same product, with the same selling price, even though it has 3 factories located in Thailand, China and Vietnam.
However, the salary that Company A pays to Vietnamese workers is lower than that in China or Thailand. Not to mention the low salary, often accompanied by low benefits and a not really good and ideal working environment.
Next, the time has passed when a worker, without a university degree and a "professional" job, could hardly make a living by doing anything other than farming in the countryside and working as a worker in the city.
Now, instead of being a factory worker, an ordinary worker has many other options for higher income, more freedom, and more time to take care of their family, such as driving a technology car, selling online, working as a construction worker, and many other freelance jobs.
So the labor market is now scarce, high competition is an inevitable movement of life. And this forces business owners, first of all, to change their mindset of recruiting and using labor.
By the way, businesses need to invest in more in-depth research and analysis to determine the main causes; survey the level of satisfaction of employees at the business.
Based on these studies, more appropriate and focused solutions can be proposed to retain employees and attract new labor from outside.
The general psychology of workers when going to work is that they prioritize immediate income to solve the demands of life.
Therefore, in the same industry, in the same locality, any business that pays high salaries, has good benefits, and an ideal working environment will naturally attract and create "love" to retain workers for a long time and vice versa!
