On May 18, the Politburo and the Secretariat held a national conference to disseminate and implement major Resolutions of the Party. Here, the General Secretary
To Lam emphasized that Resolutions No. 57, 59, 66 and 68 are "The four pillars" to help the country take off in the coming time.
With that "four pillars", the Central Government continues to prepare draft to issue two other important Resolutions, namely " Mobilizing and making breakthroughs in the development of education and training" and "making breakthroughs in people's health care". These two Resolutions are aimed at urgent needs and the enjoyment of the people. In particular, the draft Resolution on people's health care provides a roadmap for hospital fees exemption.
The Party's consistent viewpoint is to increase economic growth along with implementing progress and social justice right in every step, every policy and throughout the development process. It is not until the economy is developed at a high level that progress and social justice can be achieved, and certainly not sacrificing progress and social justice to pursue economic growth alone.
In the medical field, despite many efforts, reality shows that there are still many cases where patients have to sell their belongings to treat treatment for encephalitis; patients have to stop treatment because they do not meet economic conditions; patients have to buy high-priced drugs, poor quality drugs and the crowded scene of patients lining up to see a doctor in large hospitals...
The World Bank report shows that hospital fees and tuition fees account for 30 to 35% of the total expenditure of poor households in Vietnam. This is a figure showing that financial barriers are still preventing many people from fully accessing the necessary medical services.
The Politburo has issued instructions on tuition exemption policies from the 2025-2026 school year and in the future, the orientation of exempting hospital fees for all people will be a big step towards fairness, bringing long-term positive significance to society.
To give people the opportunity to study and receive the nearest, best quality, cheapest healthcare services towards free some basic services, it is to inherit and promote the ideology of President Ho Chi Minh: Taking people as the center in the development process.
In the article "Uncle andcle still journey with us" on the occasion of the 135th Anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday, General Secretary To Lam also affirmed: "Great orientations such as sustainable development, growth along with social progress, building an autonomous economy, improving the cultural and spiritual life of the people... all originate from his consistent ideology".
He still travels with us. March on the path towards a new era, an era of national growth, so that Vietnam can become a strong developing country in the future.
