Beginning of a new growth cycle

From the draft documents and enthusiastic presentations presented at the 14th National Party Congress, it can be affirmed: 2026 is the starting point of a new growth cycle with many rare strategic advantages.

First of all, the biggest advantage lies in the new development level of the economy. From the achievements achieved in 2025, notably the socio-economic targets achieved, GDP growth reached 8.02%, Vietnam entering 2026 is no longer in a position of "following behind to catch up", but has accumulated a significant foundation in terms of scale, operating capacity and resilience. This is considered an important "capital" to move into a longer-term and more sustainable growth cycle.

Another fundamental advantage is that a new growth model has been clearly established. The draft Resolution of the 14th National Congress not only emphasizes innovation in the growth model, but also specifically points out the pillars: Science - technology, innovation, digital transformation, green transformation and promoting the role of the private economic sector. When the "track" has been set in the right direction, specific policies will have conditions for synchronous implementation.

In parallel with that, there is a breakthrough in institutions, a factor that has long been considered "the bottleneck of the bottleneck". The draft Resolution shows that management thinking is shifting strongly from control to creation, from administrative intervention to management by law and market mechanisms. When institutions are open, compliance costs are reduced, market confidence is strengthened - that is the important "catalyst" for growth.

It is impossible not to mention the increasingly clear role of the private economic sector. Private enterprises are no longer just "encouraged", but are expected to become a driving force for innovation, job creation and enhanced national competitiveness. Supported by transparent institutions, a fair business environment and favorable access to resources, this sector will be a sustainable growth engine in the period 2026-2030.

Another strategic advantage is human resources and science and technology. The draft Resolution places people at the center of development, considering education - training, science - technology and innovation as key foundations. In the context that Vietnam's population is still in the "golden era", transforming demographic advantages into human resource quality advantages will determine the breakthrough ability. This is a condition for the economy not only to grow quickly, but also to grow smartly and sustainably.

The 14th Congress affirmed social consensus and the belief in development. People are placed in the center, linking economic growth with progress and social justice.

2026 is the first year of implementing the Resolution of the 14th National Congress with important issues for the organizational capacity of implementation: How far to delegate power, how far to be responsible and how to innovate.

With the orientations from the congress, Vietnam is facing the opportunity to open a new growth cycle, turning favorable into a result, turning the policy into productivity, income and the quality of life of the people. 2026, therefore, is not just a timeline, but the starting point of a new development expectation.
