Mr. Le Van Dung - Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Nam province emphasized: "We are determined to eliminate unnecessary expenditures, focus the budget on areas that bring practical value, promote sustainable growth".
This approach has helped Quang Nam save more than VND 1,000 billion in the budget in the past year, including: Saving more than VND 375 billion in regular spending to reform salaries; cutting nearly VND 91 billion from unreally urgent estimates; contracting spending, giving autonomy to units has helped save more than VND 48.4 billion; saving administrative management spending, national target programs, scientific research, healthcare, education saving VND 36.6 billion; investing in basic construction saving nearly VND 459.4 billion.
Just by tightening spending, a year has saved 1,000 billion VND in the budget. That savings amount will be used for other purposes, benefiting the people and the community. Other localities should refer to and start doing things to see that there are many things that are very wasteful in budget spending.
Quang Nam has saved a large amount of money by tightening spending, but there is one thing that needs to be done to limit waste, the amount is much more than 1,000 billion VND.
According to the report of the Department of Finance of Quang Nam province, there are 388 houses and land in the locality that are not in use, are used ineffectively, and are not used for the right purpose, with a total land area wasted over 82.3 hectares.
Many headquarters were abandoned due to surplus after the merger, one of which was a "golden land" area in the center of Tam Ky city, which has been abandoned for more than 15 years.
Talking to Lao Dong reporter, Mr. Le Van Dung said that it is very painful that a series of offices and land from the provincial to the grassroots level have not been handled for many years after the merger. Mr. Le Van Dung resolutely said: "In the near future, the province must recalculate to avoid wasting these prime land locations. If we cannot solve the problem of abandonment and waste of offices, we will try not to waste land resources.
Exploiting 388 public houses and land effectively is not about saving but about making money, doing well will earn a large amount of money, or bring practical benefits to the people. That benefit cannot be calculated in money.
