From the difficult years, through the years of fierce war, to the periods of national construction and development, the strength of the Vietnamese people has always been affirmed through the spirit of national solidarity under the leadership of the Party.
80 years ago, on September 2, 1945, at the historic Ba Dinh Square, President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence, declaring to the world the right to freedom and independence of the Vietnamese people. It is not only a political statement, but also the crystallization of the burning desire in the hearts of every Vietnamese person, the desire to live freely, equally, in an independent and peaceful country. From that moment on, the spirit of solidarity and the will of the entire nation became a solid foundation for Vietnam to rise up from the ruins of war, building a prosperous and developed country.
However, to gain independence, the Vietnamese people had to face extremely difficult challenges. Throughout more than 30 years of resistance against colonialism and imperty, we have witnessed the unprecedented sacrifice of many generations of Vietnamese people. From the plains to the mountains, from the urban to the rural areas, patriotism and the fighting spirit against foreign invaders have connected all people, whoever they are, from where they come, into a strong bloc.
From the wise leadership of the Party, to the consensus of people of all classes, all regions, the great unity bloc has created an invincible strength, bringing Vietnam overcome all difficulties.
Today, the great national unity bloc continues to be a great strength to help the country overcome all challenges. That spirit of solidarity is not only demonstrated in the resistance wars, but also in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland, especially in the period of innovation and international integration. The Party, State and people of Vietnam have, are and will continue to join hands to build an increasingly prosperous and strong country. It is in this solidarity that the collective strength of the entire nation has created breakthroughs in economic and social development and national reform.
The draft Political Report at the 14th National Party Congress affirmed one of the key tasks for the 2026-2030 period as " promouring the strength of the People, the great national unity bloc and the people's heart position; combining national strength with the strength of the times".
This year's National Day is a special day, the 80th anniversary of the country's independence, the people's affection for the country's major events is even more clearly demonstrated that the great national unity bloc is an indispensable factor to move towards a brighter future.
Promoting the spirit of solidarity is the basic condition for Vietnam to become increasingly strong, develop sustainably and have an increasingly high position in the international arena.
