Experts warn that the frequent use of certain drinks can cause blood pressure to increase silently.
Carbonated soft drinks and sugary drinks
High sugar content, especially fructose-rich corn syrup, can increase insulin resistance and promote salt retention in the body. According to the American Heart Association (AHA), consuming a lot of sugary drinks is associated with a higher risk of high blood pressure and cardiovascular disease.
Energy drinks
Not only containing a lot of sugar, these products also contain high-dose caffeine. Dr. John Higgins (University of Texas, USA) said that caffeine can cause temporary hypertension due to stimulating the sympathetic nervous system, especially dangerous for people with existing cardiovascular diseases.
Alcohol
The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends that regularly drinking alcohol increases the risk of prolonged high blood pressure, and also adversely affects the liver and heart.
Experts emphasize that to control stable blood pressure, priority should be given to filtered water, light tea or mineral water with low sodium content, and at the same time limit sugary and alcoholic beverages in daily life.
