1. Drink a glass of warm water
According to the National Kidney Foundation, drinking a glass of warm water about 150-200ml before bed helps the body maintain moisture, supports blood circulation to the kidneys and enhances waste filtering. However, you should not drink too much to avoid overnight urination that disrupts sleep.
2. Massage the back and waist
Studies on traditional Chinese medicine show that gentle removing of the lumbar before bed can stimulate blood circulation around the kidneys, reduce fatigue and support detoxification function. You can use your hands to massage the waist in a circle for 3-5 minutes to achieve the effect.
3. Soak your feet in herbal warm water
Soaking your feet in warm water mixed with salt or herbs such as ginger, saute before bed helps blood circulation, reducing pressure on the kidneys. The Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine shows that this therapy also helps improve sleep quality and reduce stress, thereby indirectly supporting kidney function.
Note
These habits only have a supportive effect, not a replacement for medical treatment. People with chronic kidney disease should consult a doctor before applying.
