Ca Mau strives to provide health check-ups for 100% of the population in October

After 4 campaigns, Ca Mau has provided free screening and health check-ups for more than 1.61 million people, reaching 75% of the population.

On September 11, the Steering Committee for implementing Resolution No. 72-NQ/TW of the Politburo on a number of breakthrough solutions to strengthen the protection, care, and improvement of people's health in Ca Mau province held a meeting.

According to the Department of Health, the province will continue to implement the 5th phase of screening and free health check-ups for the entire population, striving to complete the target of health check-ups for 100% of the population in October 2026.

Among the 37 key tasks implementing Resolution No. 72, 21 tasks have been issued, completed, and continued to be implemented, reaching 56.8%; 13 tasks have been issued, are being submitted, and are being implemented, accounting for 35%; 3 tasks are waiting for guidance, accounting for 8.2%.

The quality of medical examination and treatment continues to be improved. The health sector focuses on digital transformation, completing electronic medical records from province to grassroots level; and at the same time consolidating and developing the grassroots health system, improving the capacity of medical examination and treatment right in residential areas.

Speaking to direct, Mr. Ho Thanh Thuy - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ca Mau province, Head of the Steering Committee - requested the Department of Health to continue to complete and supplement the draft results of implementing Resolution No. 72; effectively organize the 5th phase of screening and health check-ups for the whole population, striving to achieve 100% of the target.

The Department of Health closely coordinates with departments, branches, communes, and wards to strengthen screening according to regulations; build a team of grassroots healthcare personnel to ensure both quantity and quality, and gradually improve the capacity to care for people's health from the grassroots level.
