In the face of the complicated developments of storms No. 10 and No. 11 causing heavy rain and flooding in many localities in the Northern and Central regions, the Department of Food Safety (Ministry of Health) sent an official dispatch to the Department of Health and the Department of Food Safety and Hygiene of provinces and cities, requesting the implementation of emergency measures to ensure food safety and prevent food poisoning during and after storms and floods.
For areas affected by flooding and landslides causing isolation, it is recommended that units have a plan to ensure the supply of food, foodstuffs, and drinking water to ensure safety; encourage people to use processed foods, eat immediately such as: dry food, instant noodles, bottled drinking water, etc., and supplement vitamins to improve resistance.
Propagate and guide people to choose, process and use safe food. Absolutely do not use dead livestock or poultry for food or food processing. In case water sources such as: Drilled wells, offshore wells are flooded, they must be filtered and disinfected before use.
Direct, guide and coordinate with preventive health units, treatment facilities and health stations to strengthen the monitoring of food poisoning risks and food-related diseases in the community. When detecting cases of digestive disorders or suspected food poisoning, they must be promptly handled immediately, minimizing the impact on people's health.
Coordinate with central and local authorities to control the quality and safety of food, foodstuffs, and drinking water that organizations and individuals can support people in flooded areas, preventing damaged, moldy, broken, expired products from reaching people.
The Food Safety Department emphasized that localities continue to strictly implement Directive No. 38/CT-TTg of the Prime Minister and directives of the Ministry of Health on strengthening food poisoning prevention, preventing fake food and ensuring food safety during the rainy and stormy season.
Units are required to urgently deploy and report the implementation results to the Department of Food Safety for synthesis and reporting to the leaders of the Ministry of Health.

Consecutive storms No. 8, 9.10 (Bualoi) and floods caused by the storm have killed, left missing, and injured 165 people; many houses and production and business establishments have had their roofs blown off and suffered heavy damage.
