A representative of the Department of Meritorious People - Department of Home Affairs of Nghe An province said that these medical staff are eligible for consideration for recognition as war invalids. Specifically, Clause 6, Article 34 of Decree 131/2021/ND-CP and Point k, Clause 1, Article 23 of the Ordinance on Preferential treatment for people with revolutionary contributions stipulate: considering recognizing war invalids in cases of special bravery in saving people, saving property of the State or the People or preventing or arresting people who commit crimes, being an example of significance in honoring, educating, and spreading in society.

Previously, at around 10:00 a.m. on October 23, Ban Van Vy (born in 1996, from Bac Ninh, residing in Que Phong, Nghe An) used a knife to attack many people at the Neonatal Department - Nghe An Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital, injuring 7 people, including many medical staff.
8 medical staff ignored the danger and tried every way to stop the subject to protect the child and his family, and to help the child escape the violent attack of the subject Ban Van Vy. During that process, 3 medical staff members were injured.
Immediately after the incident, the Ministry of Health sent a working group led by Dr. Ha Anh Duc - Director of the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management - to visit and encourage the victims.
The Minister of Health has decided to award Certificates of Merit to brave medical staff. The Director of Nghe An Department of Health has awarded Certificates of Merit to 8 health workers for their brave actions, forgetting to protect the child and the child's family.
