Tu Du Hospital is an investment unit, responsible for implementing medical examination and treatment activities with the coordination of 8 leading general and specialized hospitals in the city such as: City Children's Hospital; Dentistry Hospital; ENT Hospital; Eye Hospital; Mental Hospital; Dermatology Hospital; Rehabilitation Hospital - Treatment of Occupational Diseases; Le Van Thinh Hospital.
Regarding investment funding, using the autonomous funding source of Tu Du Hospital. The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health believes that with the capacity to organize and experience in directing routes and transferring techniques of Tu Du Hospital, the unit is fully capable of implementing the hospital's facility 2 in Can Gio district.
Previously, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee issued Decision No. 1564/QD-UBND promulgating the project to Consolidate, improve capacity and develop healthcare in Can Gio district until 2030, with a vision to 2045. One of the important contents of the project is to re-establish Can Gio District General Hospital to help local people easily receive medical examination and treatment when they need health care. In the immediate future, there are common and long-term diseases that require intensive diagnostic and treatment intervention.
To soon have a source of specialized human resources for the hospital when it is established and immediately deploy medical examination and treatment activities for the people, the feasible solution is to choose one of the city's general and specialized hospitals to deploy facility 2 located in Can Gio district (using the infrastructure of the Can Gio District Medical Center). This facility was previously built for Can Gio District Hospital, located on Luong Van Nho Street, Mieu Ba Quarter, Can Thanh Town).
