On the afternoon of November 10, the leader of Nghe An Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital said that after more than two weeks of treatment at Nghe An General Hospital, nurse Nguyen Thi Thuy Trang has been scheduled to be discharged from the hospital.
However, due to nerve damage that distorted her face, Ms. Trang was transferred to Nghe An Traditional Medicine Hospital for acupuncture and rehabilitation.
Previously, on the morning of October 23, the subject Ban Van Vy (29 years old) suddenly broke into the Neonatal Department - Nghe An Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital, using a fruit knife to attack medical staff and the patient's family. While protecting the two newborns with colleagues, the nurse stabbed the Vy Equipment 11 times in a row, causing serious damage to the neck, shoulders and chest, acute blood loss and pulmonary blood overflow.

Immediately afterwards, she was transferred to Nghe An General Hospital for emergency surgery and intensive treatment. Also injured in the incident were two other nurses, Nguyen Thi Thu Hoai and Nguyen Thi Nhung; both have now been discharged from the hospital, in which Nhung has returned to work, while Ms. Hoai asked for leave to stabilize her psychology.
Recognizing the brave act of protecting patients, the Minister of Health and the Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 1 collective and 8 individuals of Nghe An Maternity and Pediatrics Hospital. In particular, nurse Nguyen Thi Thuy Trang was awarded a Certificate of Merit by Deputy Minister of Health Tran Van Thuan at the hospital. Nghe An Health Department is completing the dossier to propose reviewing the same policies as war invalids for Ms. Trang.
Subject Ban Van Vy has been prosecuted for the crime of "Murder" under Article 123 of the Penal Code.
