Accordingly, in addition to Mr. Le Ngoc Phuc (SN 1985, residing in An Don Ward, Quang Tri Town) bravely saved the person the Lao Dong newspaper informed in the previous article, there were 2 more people involved in the rescue, Mr. Nguyen Moi (SN 1978) and Mr. Nguyen Van An (SN 1982) residing in Quarter 3 (An Don Ward, Quang Tri Town).
"We have met with the above cases to verify and clarify, then advised the People's Committee of An Don Ward to propose rewarding all 3 individuals with the heroic achievements in saving drowning people" - the leader of An Don Ward Police informed.
Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Nguyen Van An said that he fishes on the Thach Han River and has a boat to make a living. On the morning of May 24, he anchored his boat near Thach Han bridge (An Don ward), then saw Mr. Le Ngoc Phuc running down from the bridge and shouted loudly " save people, save people".
At that time, Mr. Nguyen Moi was repairing a boat on the shore and heard a cry for help, immediately ran down to the riverbank and boarded the boat with Mr. Phuc and Mr. An.
The boat started the engine and ran about 100m before reaching the location where someone was drowning. At this time, Mr. Phuc jumped into the water and approached the victim. Mr. An drove the boat close to Mr. Phuc to hold on to the shore and immediately ran to shore.
All 3 people helped bring the victim to shore for emergency care. Seeing the victim still breathing, the ambulance arrived, everyone was happy, then each person went in the same direction.
After returning home, seeing that information about the drowning rescue case had attracted much attention, Mr. An, Mr. Moi and Mr. Phuc were happy, and did not think that the An Don Ward Police would come to verify. "We just thought it was a must and were happy to have responded in time" - Mr. Nguyen Van An said.
It is known that after An Don Ward Police completed the verification, the ward made a proposal and Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai Anh, Chairman of Quang Tri Town People's Committee signed a decision to award certificates of merit to Mr. Le Ngoc Phuc, Mr. Nguyen Moi, Mr. Nguyen Van An.
Earlier, as the Lao Dong newspaper reported, about 9 am 24.5, Ms. N.T.N.H (SN 1990, from Vinh Linh district, Quang Tri province) suddenly fell from Thach Han Bridge into the river. When people discovered and shouted for help, the three men promptly boarded the boat, rushed out of the water and saved the victim's life. After completing the rescue, they quietly left the scene, leaving behind the movement and admiration of the community.
