More than 1,000 first aid visits at Cho Ray Hospital during the National Day holiday on September 2

During the National Day holiday on September 2 this year, Cho Ray Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City received a total of 1,082 emergency patients, an average of 271 cases per day.

Of these, there were 182 traffic accidents, 42 household accidents, 15 injuries and 17 poisoning cases. Notably, the number of accidents involving household accidents, injuries, snake bites and insect bites increased by 13 - 60% compared to the 2024 holiday.

The hospital-wide emergency surgery recorded 161 cases, down 10.6% over the same period last year. On August 30 alone, there were 48 cases undergoing surgery.

As of 7:00 a.m. on September 3, the number of patients being treated as inpatients at Cho Ray Hospital was 1,783, down 4.1% over the same period in 2024 (1,559 patients).

During the 4 days off, the hospital used 4,462 units of blood, down 22% compared to the previous year. A representative of Cho Ray Hospital said that the total number of emergency cases this year has decreased slightly compared to 2024, but the causation structure has changed significantly, especially in the group of household accidents and injuries.
