On March 4, information from Truong Sa Hospital (under Brigade 146, Naval Region 4) said that the unit had just successfully rescued a fisherman in distress at sea.
Previously, on the afternoon of March 3, the clinic received patient Nguyen Van Thuong (born in 1979, from Gia Lai province), a crew member of fishing vessel BD 98846TS, in a suspected brain stroke condition.

According to information from the crew members, about two days before being hospitalized, while eating rice on the ship, Mr. Thuong suddenly experienced migraines on the left side of his head, accompanied by weakness in the right half of his body and difficulty speaking.
The patient received first aid and initial treatment at Da Lat Island Military Hospital from March 1. By 5:00 PM on March 3, 2026, the patient was transferred to Truong Sa Hospital to continue monitoring and treatment.
At the time of admission, the patient was awake, exposed slowly; no longer had headaches, dizziness or nausea. Hematology and biochemical test indicators were within the permissible limits, Glasgow score reached 15 points.
However, the patient still showed signs of paralysis of the right half of the face, difficulty speaking; muscle strength of the right arm and leg decreased. Doctors diagnosed the patient with 3rd day of stroke, monitoring left hemorrhoid infarction on the background of untreated hypertension.
It is known that the patient has a history of high blood pressure but is not treated regularly. Currently, the patient is being closely monitored for vital and sensory signs, blood pressure control, active medical treatment, ensuring nutrition and comprehensive care.
According to the assessment of the medical team, the prognosis is still severe, with a risk of complicated developments.
