The risk of silent stroke from nighttime habits

Nighttime physiological changes and eating habits are closely related to the risk of stroke.

You should not eat meals that are too full or use too many greasy, salty foods before going to bed. Many people think that eating a sumptuous dinner will help sleep better, but in fact this habit is harmful to health, especially for middle-aged people and the elderly.

Eating a lot, especially foods high in fat and salt, makes the digestive system overactive, affecting blood circulation. Salty and fatty foods can increase blood pressure, increase blood viscosity, thereby increasing the risk of blood clots forming.

At night, when blood circulation is slower, the risk of blood clots causing cerebral ischemia and leading to stroke is higher. In addition, eating too much in the evening can also increase blood sugar and blood fat, putting more pressure on the cardiovascular system.

Therefore, before going to bed, you should not eat too much, especially avoid greasy, salty or richly seasoned dishes. If you feel hungry, you should choose light, low-fat and low-salt foods such as fruits or vegetables to avoid affecting your health.

In addition, it is also necessary to avoid strenuous exercise or overwork in the evening. Many people after work choose high-intensity exercise to relax, but this can have the opposite effect. Exercising too hard at night makes the heart work harder, blood pressure increases and the body does not have enough time to recover. At the same time, high-intensity exercise also easily disrupts the circadian rhythm, causing difficulty sleeping and not sleeping deeply.

Prolonged fatigue, if not relieved properly, can increase the risk of cardiovascular problems, including stroke. Therefore, doctors recommend avoiding strenuous exercise in the evening, instead, just walking gently or exercising to relax the body before bed.
