Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Huu Chau Duc - Deputy Head of the Department of Pediatrics - Geography - Urinary tract - Tropical Diseases said that measles is an infectious disease caused by the measles virus, mainly found in children under 3 years old who have not been vaccinated or have not received enough doses.
Deputy Director of Hue Central Hospital - Hoang Thi Lan Huong said that in order to strengthen the prevention and control of flu, measles and respiratory diseases, the hospital leaders have directed centers, departments and rooms to be vigilant for symptoms of cough, fever, and difficulty breathing to detect and isolate cases early and promptly.
The hospital also strengthens supervision of severe patients, especially in the intensive care unit and high-risk group. At the same time, focus on personal hygiene, environment, disinfection in areas at high risk of infection, improve air quality and limit crowded gatherings in closed spaces.
The hospital's leaders requested affiliated units to plan and provide adequate medicine and medical supplies for epidemic prevention. At the same time, review and update the prevention plan, be ready to adjust resources on drugs, medical equipment and personnel to meet treatment needs when necessary.
The hospital also recommends that staff, staff, trainees, patients, relatives and visitors who come to work wear masks when entering the hospital grounds, especially in high-risk areas.
