Measles vaccine coverage rate over 97%
Measles epidemics are complicated in many localities across the country, many children suffer from measles even though they are not old enough to be vaccinated.
In that context, the reporter's records show that some localities have " seen" the effectiveness of vaccine coverage in disease prevention. For example, Thai Nguyen province.
Sharing with Lao Dong reporter, Dr. Hoang Anh - Director of the Center for Disease Control (CDC) Thai Nguyen said: As early as 2024, when there were warnings about the possibility of a cyclical outbreak of measles, Thai Nguyen province has developed a plan to respond to the measles epidemic.

According to the doctor, in 2024, the number of measles cases in Thai Nguyen will be quite small. Up to this point, the cases have shown signs of increasing slightly, but the number is only over a dozen cases. However, without being subjective, the health sector still builds a detailed plan to respond in 2025.
"One factor that makes us quite assured is that the vaccination rate of Thai Nguyen province in recent years has been high, over 96%, and for measles vaccines, it is over 97%.
However, we do not neglect epidemic prevention because there are quite large numbers of cases around provinces and cities such as Hanoi and Bac Ninh. Therefore, we always thoroughly monitor to raise vigilance, focus on monitoring, early detection of cases, thoroughly and effectively handle outbreaks, not allowing the epidemic to spread" - Dr. Hoang Anh said.

Carefully review vaccination subjects, immediately compensate if vaccination schedule is missed
In Thai Nguyen province, up to this point, many communes have not detected any cases of measles.
Doctor Vo Thi Manh Thuy, Deputy Head of Khe Mo Commune Health Station (Dong Hy District, Thai Nguyen Province) said: In the past, the commune has not recorded any measles cases, an important part is thanks to the effectiveness of implementing adequate vaccination for children.
As soon as we received information about the measles prevention campaign from the Ministry of Health, when we arrived at the locality, we deployed it to the commune's primary health care department, deployed it to village health, and integrated it into health programs.
"First of all, information about the measles epidemic is through the commune's communication system, through the channels of village health. Next, the village health sector will make a list of vaccination subjects, Secretary of the program to plan and plan medicine, and is currently conducting a catch-up vaccination and make up for the measles vaccine. If the children are sick or have not been vaccinated by the vaccination schedule, we will organize immediate catch-up vaccination within 10 days" - said doctor Thuy.
Currently, Khe Mo commune has 2 vaccinated subjects in this campaign, children aged 1-5 and children aged 6-10, with a total of 38 children. The Health Station plans to complete the measles vaccination campaign before March 31.

In 2024 - 2025, the Ministry of Health has issued Plans to implement a measles vaccination campaign. The Ministry of Health has requested priority for districts with many cases or suspected measles cases, applying appropriate vaccination methods such as mobile vaccination, home vaccination, completing the measles vaccination campaign in March 2025...
Currently, localities across the country are making efforts to implement the campaign, in order to complete the target soon.
