Nghe An - Given the rapid and complicated developments of storm No. 5, the entire health sector is on duty 24/24 hours, ready in all situations.

On August 25, Dr. Le Thi Hoai Chung - Director of Nghe An Department of Health said that she had directed the entire health sector to activate the emergency plan to respond to storm No. 5.

According to the directive, all medical facilities must arrange leaders to be on duty for 24/24 hours; establish at least 2 mobile emergency teams in each hospital and medical center at the provincial and district levels; at the same time, activate a natural disaster prevention plan, ensure enough medicine, chemicals, medical equipment, and emergency means to be ready to provide emergency care when needed.

Hospitals are required to carefully review facilities, especially areas prone to flooding and landslides; maintain command hotlines, ensure 24/24h information; and be ready to support human resources and means for other units when there is a mobilization order.

The Director of Nghe An Department of Health emphasized: "The safety of patients and medical staff is the highest priority. Absolutely do not be passive or surprised in any situation.

Units must seriously deploy and promptly report to the Department of Health throughout the impact period of storm No. 5.
