Coming to Hamlet 5, Dinh Hoa Commune, Ninh Binh Province to visit the family of Mr. Pham Van Sang, born in 1988, no one was unknown about his family's miserable family situation.

As a boat driver and the main breadwinner in a family of 5 (old mother, wife and 2 young children in primary school), Mr. Sang had an accident and died while driving a boat on the river.
The 5-room house was built in 1974 - left by his grandfather - and has deteriorated and leaked. There were no valuable assets in the house other than old tables, chairs and beds.
Mrs. Phan Thi Thu (68 years old), Mr. Sang's mother, has not yet given up after nearly 10 days of losing her child. Ms. Thu said that at around 9:00 p.m. on October 13, the family received a phone call from the owner of the cargo ship where Mr. Sang worked reporting that he had gone missing while the ship was anchored in the Day River flowing through Gia Tran Commune (Ninh Binh). After that, the family took a bus to the area where Mr. Sang was missing with the hope of finding him safe.
But then the miracle did not come to her family. Despite efforts to search in the rain and wind, on the morning of October 15, Mr. Sang's body was found about 10km downstream of the Day River from where the boat was anchored.
"My family has 5 children, of which Sang is the youngest and has been on a cargo ship for more than 10 years, I didn't expect such an incident to happen again" - Ms. Thu said choking up.
With a bewildered and confused face, Ms. Nguyen Thi Huyen, born in 1992 (Mr. Sang's wife) could not help but feel heartbroken when her husband who was cradling her suddenly passed away, causing her to lose her psychological stability.
Ms. Huyen said that she and Mr. Sang got married in 2014 and had their first child in 2015, she quit her job at home to take care of her children, worked a few hectares of rice fields, and hand-woven and hand-woven to earn extra income to support her husband and family, hoping for a better life in the future.
"My husband goes out all the time, returning home 1-2 days a month. One day when he was picked up near his house, he took the opportunity to run home for a while and then left. There are years when I only come home for Tet and have to go to work for about a week, and there are years when I have to stay on the train and cannot return" - Ms. Huyen said.
The day she heard the news of her husband's disappearance, Ms. Huyen was hit in the ear by lightning. At that time, there was heavy rain, strong winds, and noisy thunder, so she had to stay home to look after her two young children so that relatives could come to the scene to search for Mr. Sang.

When I heard that people had found his body, I couldnt think about anything, I just wanted to follow my husband, but because I thought about the children who were still young and the old mother who had no one to take care of her, I tried to accept the reality, overcome the pain - Ms. Huyen said in tears and kept calling her husbands name.
According to Ms. Huyen, at the beginning of the year, Mr. Sang discussed with her the plan to save money and borrow more to build a solid house for the family by the end of this year. But that dream was still unfinished and it is unknown when it would be realized when Mr. Sang, the breadwinner of the family, died.
