The latest storm and low pressure forecast on August 3 of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said that immediately after storm Dolphin and tropical depression Luis, a new low pressure is likely to form in the east of PAGASA's PMD forecast area in the week from August 10-16. Forecasters predict that this low pressure is unlikely to strengthen into a storm or tropical depression.

Currently, tropical depression Luis is operating in the Philippine Sea and is likely to weaken soon. Meanwhile, Typhoon Dolphin is in the PMD forecast area of PAGASA and is moving northwest towards northern Taiwan (China).
At 2:00 PM on August 3, according to PAGASA data, Typhoon Dolphin is 2,650km north of Luzon and is moving west-northwest at a speed of 25km/h while Tropical depression Luis is operating in the coastal waters of Divilacan Isabela, with winds up to 45 km/h, gusts up to 56 km/h. Tropical depression near the East Sea Luis is moving north at a speed of 20 km/h.
