The Philippine weather agency has issued a forecast for the latest low pressure area to strengthen into a storm.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said that at 2:00 a.m. on March 26, the center of low pressure LPA 3a was at about 6.1 degrees north latitude, 131.4 degrees east longitude, 654 km east of Southeast Mindanao, Philippines.

PAGASA forecasts that the low pressure is unlikely to strengthen into a storm within the next 24 hours. However, the low pressure will cause cloudy skies and scattered rains in southern Mindanao and some areas in the Visayas on March 26.

Central Visayas, Eastern Visayas, Caraga, Davao and Siquijor regions will experience cloudy skies, accompanied by scattered showers and thunderstorms due to the influence of the depression. moderate to heavy rains can lead to flash floods or landslides.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and other regions across the country will have little to no clouds, accompanied by scattered showers or thunderstorms due to the impact of the winter wind. Strong thunderstorms can cause flash floods or landslides.

Wind speeds in Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao are forecast to be mild to moderate, moving east to northeast, while coastal areas will have mild to moderate waves.

The rest of the country will have light to moderate winds, moving from east to southeast, with light to moderate waves.

Meanwhile, on March 25, the Vietnam National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting issued a wave forecast bulletin from March 25-27.

Accordingly, Gulf of Tonkin (North and South): Waves are 0.5 - 2.5m high, gradually increasing from March 25-27, southeast.

Binh Dinh - Ninh Thuan: Waves of 0.5 - 1.5m, northeast to southeast.

Binh Thuan - Ca Mau: Waves decreased slightly from 1.0 - 2.0m to 0.5 - 1.5m, from northeast to east.

Ca Mau - Kien Giang and the Gulf of Thailand: Low waves 0.5 - 1.0m, east to southeast.

North and Central East Sea, Hoang Sa and Truong Sa: Waves of 0.5 - 1.5m, northeast or many directions.

Weather forecast from March 25 to March 27:

Northwest: Showers and thunderstorms at night in some places, local fog in the early morning; sunny during the day, some places are hot.

Northeast: Rain in some places at night, fog and scattered light fog in the early morning; sunny during the day.

Thanh Hoa - Hue: Night of 25 - 26.3: Rain in some places at night, fog and scattered light fog in the morning, sunny day, hot weather in some places. Night of the 26th - day of the 27th: No rain at night, hot day.

Other regions: Showers and thunderstorms in some places in the evening and at night; sunny during the day, some places in the Central Highlands and the South are hot.
