Video released by the Houthi broadcaster al- Masirah on January 10 shows the exact moment the fighter jet was hit by a surface-to-air missile while flying over the capital Sana'a, Yemen the day before.
The pilot's fate is still unknown.
The Saudi-led F-15 fighter jet haking came shortly after Yemen claimed to have shot down another Saudi- Arabian fighter in northwestern Sa'ada province.
The Saudi Arabian-led joint venture said the plane had a "technical error and fell into the war zone" and the pilots survived the incident.
Yemen Air Defense Commander Ibrahim Al-Shami praised the fighter jets' shootdown as the army's latest air defense achievements. Last weekend, he warned the Saudi Arabian front against underestimating the capabilities of the Yemen air defense forces.
Yemen's forces regularly launch ballistic missiles at locations inside Saudi Arabia in retaliation for the joint occupation in Yemen. The war against the Houthis, supported by the Saudi Arabian army in support of Yemen's pro-riadh government, began in March 2015.
