International news agencies have had articles and information about the Vietnamese economic situation with positive and optimistic perspectives.

The Vietnamese economy is attracting increasing attention from international financial and media organizations, with many positive assessments of growth momentum, stable macroeconomic foundation and long-term development prospects.

AFP news agency reported that Vietnam's economic growth in the second quarter reached 8.4%, an increase compared to the same period last year and higher than the previous forecast of 7%. In general, in the first 6 months of 2026, Vietnam's GDP increased by 8.2%, in which the industrial - construction sector continues to be one of the important drivers in maintaining growth momentum along with the recovery of production activities and domestic demand.

AFP quoted Mr. Standre Bezuidenhout from DFDL international law firm as saying that Vietnam has shown the ability to turn geopolitical and supply chain changes into investment attraction opportunities.

He stated clearly that Vietnam is continuing to attract production activities, strengthen trade integration and consolidate its image as a reliable destination for investment capital.

The growth momentum is also clearly shown through trade activities and investment capital attraction. AFP said that in the first 6 months of 2026, Vietnam's export turnover reached 266.52 billion USD, an increase of 21% compared to the same period last year. Meanwhile, foreign investment capital increased by 61%, reaching 34.65 billion USD.

In a recent article, citing a report by Standard Chartered, Xinhua said that this bank forecasts Vietnam's GDP to increase by 9.5% in 2026 and 11% in 2027. Standard Chartered also lowered Vietnam's inflation forecast for 2026 to 4.4%, while saying that monetary policy may continue to support growth and control inflation.

Mr. Tim Leelahaphan, senior economist in charge of Thailand and Vietnam at Standard Chartered, assessed that Vietnam's economy has shown strong recovery potential in the first half of 2026. Growth momentum is driven by the production, service and investment sectors, along with support from growth-promoting policies.

Mr. Leelahaphan said that in the context of the world economy still facing many fluctuations and inflationary pressure, Vietnam enters the last months of 2026 with a solid position thanks to strong domestic demand, continued investment in infrastructure and production capacity, as well as the ongoing economic transformation process - factors that are expected to support the country's long-term development goals.
