The United Nations highly appreciated Vietnam's important achievements in foreign affairs and socio-economic development, as well as Vietnam's leading role in many major international forums.

On April 17, at the Presidential Palace, Politburo member and President Luong Cuong received Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations Amina Mohammed on the occasion of her visit to Vietnam to attend the 4th Summit on Partnership for Green Growth and Global Goals (P4G) in Hanoi.

The President highly appreciated the participation of Ms. Amina Mohammed, thereby affirming the United Nations' commitment to promoting green growth, responding to global challenges as well as to the Vietnam - United Nations cooperation relationship.

The President affirmed that Vietnam always appreciates the important contributions of the United Nations over the past eight decades to maintain world peace and security, promote international cooperation for sustainable development.

The President affirmed his strong support for multilateralism, with the United Nations playing a central role, and emphasized that Vietnam is determined to pursue an independent, self-reliant, multilateral and diversified foreign policy. Vietnam is an active and responsible member of the international community, especially in solving global issues. The President suggested that the United Nations continue to support Vietnam in a number of priority areas, including the implementation of sustainable development goals, building a rule of law state, digital transformation, green transformation, responding to climate change and global challenges, etc.

Ms. Amina Mohammed expressed her impression of Vietnam's development achievements in recent times and was pleased to affirm that the Vietnam - United Nations cooperation has developed well and extensively over the past five decades. The United Nations highly appreciated Vietnam's role and contributions to the activities of the United Nations and wished to share Vietnam's successful development experience with United Nations partners.

Deputy Secretary -General shared a number of UN activities being promoting with Vietnam, including the implementation of the results of the future summit (New York, September 2024), preparing for the World Summit on the 2nd Social Development, the 30th Conference of the parties participating in the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP30), the Fourth International Conference on Finance and Finance for Finance for Finance.

On the same day, welcoming Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations and Executive Secretary of the Asia-Pacific Economic Commission (ESCAP) Armida Salsiah Alisjahbana on the occasion of her visit to Vietnam to attend the 4th P4G Summit, Party Central Committee member, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son suggested that the United Nations and ESCAP strengthen cooperation, support acceleration of the implementation of sustainable development goals in line with Vietnam's current priorities...

The Deputy Prime Minister, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Executive Secretary of ESCAP agreed to jointly promote multilateralism, international law and the United Nations Charter, promote cooperation in the region, as well as strengthen cooperation in specific priority areas of Vietnam such as the application of science and technology, innovation, digital transformation, etc.
