Xinhua News Agency reported that in mid-August, the Man Giang River, flowing through Bang Son District, Mi Son City, and Tu Xuyen Province, was flooded due to heavy rain and floods.
A mother dog and a herd of 5 pets got lost and were trapped in the middle of the river. Xinag Qinggui, a swimmer, rescued his mother dog and one of the pets.
He shared that while working at a nearby swimming pool, he heard this news and did not hesitate to come and rescue them to shore.
Some people passing by also participated in rescuing and saving 2 dogs.
When Mr. Xiang was about to go into the river to save the remaining pets, the police and people tried to stop him because they were afraid that the flood would threaten his life.
At that time, the mother dog took the 3 rescued children to a safe place and plunged into the floodwaters.
The mother dog appeared very worried when seeing the remaining dogs under the floodwaters. It got past the police, plunged into the river and saved its child after a persistent search, an eyewitness shared.
Immediately, the mother dog returned, brought the last dog and put it on the shore.
Everyone present at the scene applauded after all 6 dogs had come ashore safely.
Currently, the dog herd has been adopted by a local resident.
