Mr. Trump promises to pay a customs dividend of 2,000 USD for each American

President Donald Trump has pledged that every eligible American citizen will receive a taxes load of $2,000.

The move has caused fierce controversy as the US Supreme Court is reviewing the legality of the tariff policy bearing President Trump's mark.

On November 9, President Donald Trump announced that each eligible US citizen will receive $2,000 in taxes, a direct expenditure that he said would come from the trillions of dollars brought in by the governments tax policy.

wrote on the social network Truth Social, Mr. Trump emphasized: "Those who oppose tariffs are fools! This policy is bringing thousands of billions of dollars to the US budget and will help reduce the national debt worth 37 trillion USD.

He affirmed that each middle- or low-income American will receive at least $2,000, while the high-income group will not be eligible.

According to President Trump, import tax revenues hit on goods from many trading partners - including China, the European Union (EU) and Mexico - have brought "unprecedentedly large sources of income".

Finance Minister Scott Bessent confirmed to ABC News that taxes could be implemented in various forms, including personal income tax reductions or direct subsidies.

We are discussing how to transfer this source of revenue to the people as quickly as possible, Bessent said, refusing to disclose a specific time.

Mr Trump's tariff policies are being challenged in the US Supreme Court, after many states and a series of small businesses filed lawsuits, arguing that import tariffs are effectively a burden on US consumers.

At a press conference at the Oval Office, a reporter questioned the judge's statement that "ance is no different from any tax that the American people have to pay".

I do not agree, Trump responded. People can pay a part, but overall, the US is benefiting greatly.

The president also warned that a unfavorable ruling from the Supreme Court would be a disaster for the United States, and revealed that he had prepared a Plan B if the policy was rejected.
