The fighting had earlier broken out on the morning of July 24 near the Ta Moan Thom temple area, then spread to many areas along the Thai-Cambodian border. This is the most serious conflict between the two countries in more than a decade, killing 38 people, including 25 in Thailand and 13 in Cambodia.
The ceasefire was signed on July 28, after talks in Malaysia under the coordination of Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.
