VNA quoted Dr. Chheang Vannarith, Deputy Secretary General cum Head of the Advisory Group of the Cambodian National Assembly, as saying that the National Assembly and People's Council elections are an important part of the reform process in Vietnam. According to him, the goal is to improve governance efficiency, reduce bureaucracy, use resources more rationally and accelerate the decision-making process, in which the National Assembly plays an important role in promoting reform.
Assessing the activities of the Vietnamese National Assembly in the past time, Mr. Vannarith said that the legislative body of Vietnam has had many noteworthy innovations. In particular, the quality of questioning and answering questions is increasingly improved, contributing to strengthening supervision of the executive body and limiting abuse of power.
Mr. Vannarith emphasized: "The National Assembly is an agency that monitors and supervises to ensure transparent and effective law enforcement. Therefore, the National Assembly plays an important role in Vietnam's reform and development process.
Agreeing with this view, Mr. Beni Sukadis, Senior Coordinator of the Indonesian Institute for National Defense and Strategy Studies, also highly appreciated the increasingly prominent role of the Vietnamese National Assembly and local authorities in socio-economic development and legal reform.
According to Mr. Beni Sukadis, the Vietnamese National Assembly has contributed to shaping the legal framework serving economic development through the promulgation and amendment of laws related to investment, public-private partnership, land management and digital governance. These reforms help strengthen a stable legal environment, enhance investor confidence and support the process of adjusting the economy according to market mechanisms.
According to Indonesian experts, the close coordination between the National Assembly and local authorities has strongly consolidated Vietnam's national economic development plan according to the export-oriented growth model. This is not only a good model for Vietnam but also for many other countries, bringing practical benefits to the economy and people.
Assessing the progress of the Vietnamese National Assembly in the past time, Mr. Beni Sukadis said that there are at least 3 notable highlights: Enhancing transparency in parliamentary activities; The trend of professionalizing the activities of delegates and promoting the application of technology in the legislative process. These factors have contributed to consolidating the legal framework as well as improving the capacity and operational efficiency of the Vietnamese National Assembly in the new context.
Assessing the National Assembly and People's Council elections, journalist Gastón Fiorda of Argentine National Radio, an expert on Vietnamese issues, emphasized that the election needs to be seen in the context of the strategic orientations established at the XIV National Congress (XIV Congress) of the Communist Party of Vietnam recently.
According to him, the 14th Congress not only summarizes the development results in the past 5 years but also sets medium and long-term goals and policies to continue to enhance Vietnam's position - a middle-income country aiming for a high middle-income level.
Argentine experts believe that Vietnam's development strategy currently focuses on key areas such as artificial intelligence (AI), energy, management and efficient exploitation of natural resources, as well as science and technology. In addition, Vietnam continues to promote the development of industries with competitive advantages in the international market.
According to Mr. Fiorda, the consolidation of state power agencies through parliamentary elections and People's Councils at all levels contributes to ensuring the effective operation of the political system, while continuing to implement the orientations and governance principles established at the 14th Party Congress.
