Russian President warns of conflict scenario with Europe

On September 11 (local time), according to TASS news agency, Russian President Vladimir Putin warned that the deployment of troops by European countries to Ukraine would mean a conflict with Russia.

Currently, they say they are calculating how to send troops to Ukraine. This would mean a conflict with Russia," Putin told reporters.

According to the Russian President, the idea of deploying European forces to Ukraine has only been publicly mentioned recently.

Putin's statement was made in the context that some European countries continue to discuss options to support Ukraine and the possibility of deploying forces after the conflict ends. Moscow has repeatedly opposed the possibility of NATO troops appearing in Ukraine.

North Korea launches object towards the Sea of Japan

In another development, North Korea launched an object towards the Sea of Japan, according to information from the South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff.

TASS did not specify the type of launched object or related parameters. Previously, on August 20, North Korea was said to have launched about 10 missiles towards the Sea of Japan.

The new launch took place in the context that the security situation on the Korean peninsula continues to be closely monitored by Seoul and Tokyo.

Iran and Gulf countries discuss the Strait of Hormuz

On the same day, Iran is expected to attend a meeting between foreign ministers of the Persian Gulf and Oman Gulf countries in Oman on September 14, according to Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmail Baghaei.

According to Mr. Baghaei, one of the contents being discussed is the results of negotiations between Iran and Oman on determining safe routes for commercial ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz.

Mr. Baghaei assessed the meeting as an important event, and hoped that the meeting would contribute to strengthening mutual understanding between countries in the region and promoting regional security.

Previously, on August 6, Fars news agency quoted a source from the Iranian Foreign Ministry as saying that Tehran and Muscat were negotiating on collecting service fees for ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz. The specific fee will depend on the volume of services provided by Iran and Oman.
