Billionaire Elon Musk defends drug abuse allegations

Billionaire Elon Musk strongly denies allegations related to drug use.

The move comes after a report suggesting Elon Musk used ketamine and hallucinants during his 2024 campaign.

According to an American newspaper on May 30, Mr. Musk - an advisor to President Donald Trump - was accused of using so much ketamine that he had bladder problems. Musk has also been accused of using ecstasy and hallucinations, often carrying a box of medicine on his trips.

However, it is unclear whether he will continue to use these substances while serving as the leader of the DOGE, an agency established after Donald Trump took office in January.

Shortly after, on May 31, Musk posted a response on the X platform: I obviously dont use drugs! The information was blatantly fabricated. He said he tried ketamine prescription a few years ago and shared it publicly on X. Elon Musk said the drug helped him get out of a gloomy mood, but has not used it since then.

Musk had previously avoided questions about the use of stimulants during an unusual appearance at the Trump Department with President Donald Trump on May 30. The farewell as the head of DOGE - which has fired tens of thousands of US civil servants - became notable when Elon Musk appeared with a clear bruise around his eyes.

The bruises quickly attracted public attention because they coincided with the time when the American newspaper accused Musk of using drugs. The newspaper also recalled another controversial behavior of Mr. Musk, when he was said to have enthusiastically welcomed the German-style National Assembly at a rally to celebrate Mr. Trump's inauguration in January.

Regarding the wound on his face, Musk said he was punched by his own young son while playing. I told him to hit me in the face... and he did it. It turned out that being punched by a 5-year-old child was also painful, he shared.

Late on May 30, when asked if he knew about Musk's "regular use of drugs", President Trump replied: "I don't know". He added: I think Elon is a great person.

Elon Musk has previously admitted to using ketamine as a prescription to treat negative psychological conditions and said that this is beneficial for his work performance.
