The situation of Vietnamese people after earthquakes in Myanmar and Thailand

So far, there has been no information about Vietnamese people affected by earthquakes in Myanmar and Thailand.

On the afternoon of March 28, 2025, a 7.7 earthquake occurred in Central Myanmar, injuring many people and damaging many structures in Myanmar and Thailand.

Immediately after receiving the information, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs directed the Vietnamese representative agencies in Thailand and Myanmar to quickly grasp information about the situation of Vietnamese citizens.

According to preliminary information from Vietnamese representative agencies in Myanmar and Thailand, up to now, there has been no record of any information about Vietnamese people affected by the earthquake.

Following the direction of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Vietnamese representative agencies in Myanmar and Thailand continue to maintain close contact with local authorities and Vietnamese community units in affected localities to closely monitor the situation; be ready to deploy citizen protection plans if necessary; advise people to closely monitor notices and follow instructions from local authorities to prevent further earthquakes in the next 24 hours.
