TASS reported that at the MILEX 2025 arms exhibition in Belarus, the Russian Federal Agency for Technical - Military Cooperation (FSMTC) said that Lancet UAVs are receiving strong attention from a series of countries in the Middle East, Southeast Asia, Africa and Latin America.
Known as one of Russia's main weapons on the Ukrainian battlefield, the Lancet is a suicide attack UAV capable of flying around targets and hitting targets with high accuracy.
The practical results have exceeded expectations, helping this system resonate in the global defense industry.
This system has shown extremely impressive combat performance in combat conditions, helping it receive widespread recognition in the world. It can be affirmed that the Lancet-E export version has great potential, the FSMTC said at the exhibition.
According to FSMTC, the Lancet-E version is attracting great attention from potential customers in the Middle East, Southeast Asia, Africa, Latin America and countries of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).
These are areas that have a tradition of importing Russian weapons, but this attention is assessed as "higher than normal" because countries that want to own UAVs have proven their real power on modern battlefields.
We have seen a significant increase in the level of interest from foreign partners in Russian-made death UAVs, especially after they have proven effective in a real combat environment, the FSMTC stressed.
First appearing around 2019, Lancet UAVs developed by ZALA Aero Group (under Kalashnikov Group) belong to the group of suicide attack UAVs, similar to Iran's Kamikaze drones or the US switchblade series.
In the Ukrainian conflict, the Lancet was used to attack tanks, artillery systems, radar and even air defense systems of the enemy.
Currently, in addition to export demand, the Russian Armed Forces are also increasing the equipment of this UAV line, which could limit supply in the short term.
Lancet's success shows the increasingly important role of suicide UAVs in modern warfare. Cheap, compact, and precision-attacked weapons are changing the situation on the battlefield and forcing many countries to review traditional defense strategies.
Now Russia also affirms its position as a UAV power, especially in the field of practical combat UAVs, which can operate in areas subject to strong electronic harassment by the opponent.
With its proven performance in Ukraine, Lancet UAVs are not only a weapon, but also a potential export passport for the Russian defense industry, in the context of the West tightening sanctions.
